International Day Against Racism also in Steglitz-Zehlendorf !
Anti-discrimination starts with change. Change can only begin with ourselves and in our existing structures. For the International Day against Racism, the Hellenic Community of Berlin e.V. in cooperation with the RegisterStelle Steglitz-Zehlendorf on 21.3.2019 at 14:00-18:00 a workshop for social institutions under the title "Strategies against Discrimination for Social Institutions".
Escape, migration and social diversity are ubiquitous in Berlin. It is not only discrimination by actors from the "right outside" that is increasingly appearing in the public sphere. Numerous incidents happen in everyday life. The figures from the Berlin Register for 2018 show that racialand anti-Semitic discrimination has risen sharply in Berlin. Verbal and physical assaults are on the increase. It is therefore important to familiarise yourself with the many faces of discrimination and to be able to implement concrete action strategies and support options for those affected. This is what we want to achieve with the workshop series "Anti-Discrimination in Steglitz-Zehlendorf".
The offer is aimed specifically at employees of social institutions, youth work and volunteer stakemembers who already do an important part of the integration wor
k. The project is funded by the Steglitz-Zehlendorf district integration fund. The Integration Fund is a measure of the overall approach to integration and participation.
